Morrissey Verses The Beer Bottle Wielding Fan

LIVERPOOL, UK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) –
A very short and abrupt Morrissey concert was held in Liverpool on Saturday night. Midway into his second song a plastic beer bottle was thrown from the crowd and hit Morrissey in the eye. That was the end of the show at the Echo Arena in Liverpool for the once frontman for the Smith’s.

Morrissey had opened the concert with the words: "It's Saturday, it's Liverpool, it's raining, it's perfect" before launching into the Smiths' hit This Charming Man. Morrissey had collapsed on stage only weeks ago after apparently suffering repertory illness but showed no signs according to the Press Association.

But during his second song, Black Cloud, Morrissey leans down to shake the hands of some of his thousands of fans that night when the bottle came flying his way.

The singer stood up and said "goodnight" to the crowd who began to chant "Morrissey, Morrissey. Morrissey" in hopes to get the 50 year old singer back on stage to complete his show.

Five minutes after the incident an announcement that he had been hit on the head and would not be resuming the concert.

Fans quoted by Press Association are Jay Silker, 27, from Mossley Hill, Liverpool, said: "If there's ever a singer who would not take kindly to a bottle being thrown at him, it's Morrissey."

Iain Kavanagh, 33, from Liverpool, said: "Some people were complaining afterwards because he's been in the game for years and he should be used to it by now.

"But he's a 50-year-old man who has just been ill and he deserves better than that."
