Westmont, PA — If you're like most people when snow and ice hit the area, you stay curled up at home ordering in pizza or Chinese, hoping they deliver in the bad weather.
"They said that the roads with the freezing rain just wasn't safe for us to keep going out, so they decided not to deliver anymore,” says Peking Place employee Stephanie Miles.
At Peking Place in Westmont, it's usually just owner Charlie Sheen and his wife making the deliveries. But sometimes, it's just too bad for them and their Subaru Forester to make the many delivery orders they receive each day.
“In this weather, we always cancel the delivery,” says Sheen. “We don't deliver because the weather is so bad.”
6 News talked with one customer who says she wasn't planning on eating out but she is thankful Peking Place was open.
“I ran out to the store to grab some essentials to make dinner to find out they were closed,” says resident Jodi Lashley. “Then, as I was trying to decide what I was going to do for dinner I saw the big open sign on the Chinese restaurant.”
Sheen says while they are open making Chinese for all to enjoy, if you want some, you have to come pick it up.
